CAMP MARU

Okavango Delta

UBER STYLISH AND ECO FRIENDLY,

IN A PRIME LOCATION

More about Camp Maru

The design of Camp Maru is a deliberate return to the authentic safari camps of days gone by and, with just 6 luxurious tents, it offers one of the most intimate and exclusive safari experiences available in the Delta.

The Camp is shaded by a grove of giant Leadwood trees on the edge of an expansive lagoon, filled with grunting hippos and fringed with waving papyrus. This permanent water source attracts many animals and birds, both great and small.

Their concession is situated in a game-rich area of the Okavango Delta. This combined with an incredibly diverse habitat, which includes mopane woodland, acacia trees, savannah, floodplains, permanent channels and tiny islands, makes for spectacular and special game viewing. Sightings of big cats and the occasional sightings of rare species like wild dogs and rhino, add to the magical safari experience of the camps.  For avid birdwatchers, a number of rare species occur, including the endangered ground hornbill. Year-round water and land activities make this an attractive destination.

  • Locally sourced produce, amenities and decor.

  • Renewable energy – solar power. 100% Off the grid.

  • Community upliftment projects.

  • The honey farming and bee conservation project.

  • Generous tent sizes. Unpretentious decor styled after the romance of 1930’s safari.
