DETAILED ITINERARY

Arrive Johannesburg 12 June, overnight at City Lodge in airport complex.

DAY 1, 2 - OKAVANGO DELTA [13 June]

Fly from Johannesburg to Maun, Botswana.

On arrival in Botswana, you will meet your driver/guide that will be with you for the duration of your time in Botswana. You head out of Maun by road to a private concession of the OkavangoDelta where you will spend your first two nights camping on an island in the Delta that is only accessible by mokoro - traditional kayaks.

DAY 3, 4 - KHWAI/MOREMI AREA

The Khwai River forms the boundary between the reserve and the local Khwai Community Area. Spend the next two nights camping at a campsite in the community area, exploring the Khwai floodplains on day and night game drives. Predator and elephant viewing in this region is excellent - off-road driving is allowed too!

DAY 5, 6 - SAVUTI AREA, CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

You head further north en route to Chobe National Park, were you spend the following two nights camping at a pristine bush campsite in the Savute region and exploring the dry landscape on game drives. Savute is an area that can change dramatically, with the character of the place changing completely depending on the flowing or drying up of the Savute Channel. In 2010, water from the Savute Channel reached the Marsh for the first time in three decades (after a long dry period during which resident lions learned to prey on elephants coming to drink at isolated waterholes). The presence of water can transform these dynamics and the only way to find out what will happen next, is to visit Savute with us and see for yourself!

DAY 7, 8 - CHOBE RIVERFRONT AREA, CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

You journey north toward the Chobe River, the second biggest river in Southern Africa (Zambezi is the largest), home to the world’s largest Elephant herds; large numbers of big game such as Buffalo, Hippo and Lion can be seen here. Your private campsite is on a Teak forested dune that overlooks this beautiful river. Game drives are taken in the afternoons and mornings to find the remarkable variety of species that are drawn to this permanent water source.

DAY 9 - DEPARTURE [21 June]

Following breakfast, you break camp and a short game drive your safari will end in Kasane in time to check in to your flight back to Johannesburg.

Arriving in Johannesburg you will check in to your long-haul flight overnight to the US.
