    Day 1 - Camps Bay, Cape Town

    Fly from Maun to Cape Town International (NOT INCLUDED)

     

    With the majestic Twelve Apostle mountain range as a back drop and the Atlantic Ocean less than a minutes walk away, The Bay Hotel boasts an unrivaled location in the heart of glitzy Camps Bay. After a busy day seeing Cape Town’s world-class sights, exhale and relax with a sunset cocktail, a treatment in the on-site spa or some time lounging around one of four sea-facing pools. Or if all that sounds too demanding, retreat to one of the 78 bright, modern rooms or suites to gaze out at the beach and do absolutely nothing at all. Whether you’re traveling on business, planning the perfect wedding or just seeking some rest and relaxation, our friendly, professional staff will make sure you get the most from your Camps Bay stay.

    Day 2 - Camps Bay, Cape Town

    Cape Point Tour Full Day - SCHEDULED, SMALL GROUP

     

    Depart from your hotel at 09:00 and travel along the Atlantic seaboard to the fishing village of Hout Bay, where, as an optional extra, you board a boat to view the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island (weather permitting). Alternatively, explore the working harbor and visit the fish markets and local shops. Return to dry land and navigate the 114 curves of 600m high Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the world's most spectacular passes, past the Cape's longest beach at Noordhoek and the coastal hamlets of Kommetjie and Scarborough. Look out for Southern Right Whales just offshore from June to November!

    Enter the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park. Climb (or ride the world's first environmentally friendly funicular) to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical vistas of False Bay, and south western most point of Africa: breath-taking Cape Point.

    Head along the False Bay coast to Boulders Beach for a close-up encounter with a colony of African Penguins, and then head home through the naval village of Simonstown and over Boyes Drive. The last stop of the day is Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, for a walk through one of the largest collections of indigenous plants in the world.

    NB. A lunch stop will be made en route although this is not included in the cost. The cruise to Seal Island, funicular ride at Cape Point and entrance to Boulders Beach are optional extras.

    Day 3 - Camps Bay, Cape Town

    Cape Town City Tour Half Day - SCHEDULED, SMALL GROUP

     

    Drive through the city of Cape Town via the vibrant Bo-Kaap, or Cape Malay Quarter (so named for those peoples exiled to the Cape from Dutch colonies in the East).

    Leave the vehicles for a historic walk through the Company Gardens, a fresh produce garden for ships and locals from the mid-17th Century, and now home to the SA Museum, Houses of Parliament, National Gallery and St George's Cathedral. Stroll through the city to Greenmarket Square, where you can browse bustling market stalls for beautiful and unique African mementos.

    From there drive to the Castle, South Africa's oldest building, with its formidable collection of Old Cape paintings. Take in the nearby Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the nation on his release from prison in 1990, and then move on to the District Six Museum, which showcases the colorful life of this legendary area and the forced relocation of its residents during Apartheid.

    Entrance fees to the SA Museum and Castle of Good Hope are included - other points of interest are optional.

    The trip up Table Mountain on the cableway is not formally included but if everyone in the group does want to go up then most likely your guide will go up with you. If only some guests want to go up then most likely you will be dropped at the cable station at the end of your trip to go up on your own. We prefer to pre-purchase tickets on your behalf to avoid the queues and save time. The weather plays a part in deciding when is best to go up.

    Day 4 - Franschhoek, Western Cape

    Cape Winelands Day Tour - SCHEDULED, SMALL GROUP 

     

    You depart the city for a scenic drive towards the Cape Winelands where you will explore some of the historic wine estates. The Cape Winelands are scenically without equal amongst the wine-producing regions of the world.

    The three major centers in this region are: Paarl, the birthplace of the Afrikaans language, Stellenbosch, the second oldest city in the country and Franschhoek, first settled by the French Huguenots in 1688 and now, undoubtedly, the culinary capital of South Africa.

    Your tour will take you to each of these three towns allowing you to enjoy a cellar tour and wine tasting at a leading estate, followed by a second tasting later in the day (time-permitting, perhaps even a third!). Enjoy the mix of majestic mountain ranges, fine wines, beautiful Cape Dutch architecture, and sample the fine cuisine.

    You will be dropped at La Fontaine Guest House after your Tour.

    Day 5 - Franschhoek, Western Cape

     

    The Franschhoek Wine Tram hop-on-hop-off tour is one of the best ways to discover the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley – picturesque vineyards, breath-taking scenery, warm hospitality, world-class cuisine, fine wines and a 300-year history. Passengers aboard the hop-on-hop-off tour will experience a unique and leisurely way to see the Franschhoek Valley as they journey through rolling vineyards in an open-side tram and open-air tram-bus stopping in at some of South Africa’s oldest and most distinguished wine estates. A combination of tram and tram-bus transports passengers around a loop of stops allowing them to hop-off at each stop and experience the activities on offer, be it wine tasting, a cellar tour, lunch or simply a stroll through the vineyards and when they are ready, hop-on to continue the tour. The tour takes passengers right into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley, with a narration focusing on the history of Franschhoek and wine cultivation in the valley, complimentary wine tastings and unparalleled views of the valley and vineyards.
