MASHATU TENTED CAMP - 4 Nights
$ 2 896-00 (January - December 2019 USD per person sharing
Mashatu is the epitome of all that defines wilderness areas in Africa. Visitors are charmed by the vast open spaces; the biodiversity of wildlife from the gigantic to the miniscule; the majestic skies unfettered by smog; the tranquility interspersed with birdsong and sounds of the wild. Part of this charm is the unexpected adventure safari over and above the game drives: horse-back safaris, cycling safaris and walks in the wild. Photographic hides add an aspect to the adventure safari which is unique and thrilling to their patrons be they professional photographers or lovers of wildlife. These added adventures are all tailored to bring visitors into intimate contact with this remarkable wilderness.
Day 1 to 4 - Mashatu - Tuli
Fly from Johannesburg to Mashatu (Tuesdays and Sundays)
Arrive at the Limpopo Valley Airfield where you are met and transfered to the Lodge.
A 30 minute vehicle transfer from Mashatu Main Camp is a refuge that is very different. The Mashatu Tent Camp is almost one with the environment; blink and you might miss it! This tented camp is the leisure choice for the guest who seeks the ultimate one-on-one bush experience and who prefers a more intimate environment (and no children under the age of 12).
Eight completely private tents are tucked under the branches of enormous trees, accessible via meandering pathways. The tents themselves are spacious and comfortable and large enough that adults need not duck to move around in. Each is mounted on a concrete platform and has its own private outdoor en-suite facilities, including W.C. and shower. Imagine showering under the stars!
Early morning and evening game drives every day bring visitors into close contact with the fascinating wildlife which inhabits Mashatu, promising a different nature experience with each drive.

Mountain Bike Safaris
For guests staying at Mashatu Main Camp or Mashatu Tented Camp, there is an opportunity, for the more adventurous, to join a mountain bike safari and see the bush from a completely different perspective. Experienced rangers accompany the cyclists as they pedal their way along ancient elephant paths. Cycling amid the “Giants of Mashatu” is an awesome, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the mountain bike safaris are tailored to suit the fitness and strength of the riders. Rides are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon.

Half Day Walking Trail
On a walking trail the focus is more holistic than purely big game. Although many opportunities arise to view big game, the focus is on the little, often overlooked aspects of the bush – tracks, plants, insects, etc. A walking safari is an awakening of all the senses. You are a part of the environment – not merely a spectator on a safari vehicle. There is no better place to enjoy a walking safari than in this diverse and mammoth piece of Africa – The Land of the Giants.
- US$55.00 per person per morning / afternoon walk
