    Day 1: Moremi / Khwai

Your guide will meet you at 07h30 at a pre-arranged meeting point in Maun. From Maun you will drive through to Moremi / Khwai, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana which covers swamp and dry areas. The next two days will be spent searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is renowned for, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region. Game drives in the early morning as the sun rises and in the late afternoon as the sun sets will be the norm.

Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent. (L, D)

    Day 3: Savuti/Zwezwe - Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes, will be your next destination. As you continue your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savuti where bull elephants dot the plains. Savuti is very well known for its predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and even African wild dog. The Savuti Channel has started flowing again after being dry for the last 30 years. The arrival of water is changing the landscape as well as accommodating different species which historically have not been able to survive in the rather arid plaines of Savuti. This exciting event has allowed large breeding herds of elephant as well as buffalo to visit the area. Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent. The Chobe River Floodplain is an amazing game viewing area where water attracts large herds of buffalo, elephant, zebra and other herbivors. Due to the proliferation of prey, predators are likely to be close at hand. Sun sets in this region as always spectacular and allow amazing photographic opportunities. Camping will be in private designated campsites with ensuite bush ablutions on every tent. (B, L, D)Savuti - Chobe River: 170km, 5h

Fully Serviced Dome Tent with En-Suite Facilities

Although this is labeled as a "Camping" trip is is far from the picture camping brings to mind, as this style of safari does not require any form of participation. Tents are 3 x 3 meter dome-type-with En-Suite Facilities. They are big enough so that someone can stand inside. These tents are made from durable rip-stop canvas and have sewn-in groundsheets. They come equipped with sturdy camp beds, mattresses, fitted sheets, pillow, pillowcases and duvets. Other equipment used on safari to enhance guests comfort are camping basins, washstands, hot water bucket showers and water-based toilets. Safari style fold-up chairs and large tables are provided (all meals eaten from the table).  The Back-up team does all the cooking, cleaning and setting-up and breaking camp, so the difficult aspect of camping is taken away! This setup allows guests to get as close to nature, wilderness, plants and animals as possible. The essence is not to insulate guests from the very things they have come to see. In many cases, the camping aspect of this style of safaris are what guests remember most, due to the use of private sites which allow guests unparalleled closeness to the wild.
