MMA TSEBE TENTED CAMP

The camp has a wonderfully intimate character, with only nine Meru-style safari tents tucked amongst mopane trees. The design is classic Botswana tented safari, but with a more refined and comfortable feel than a traditional mobile camp. The tents are set on raised decks and positioned to provide privacy and views towards the river. The main guest area is an airy canvas-and-deck structure with dining and lounge spaces, while the surrounding trees and river give the camp a genuine wilderness atmosphere.

The accommodation is particularly well appointed for a small tented camp. The spacious canvas tents have plush beds beneath mosquito-net canopies, ceiling fans, writing desks and seating areas, together with private verandas where guests can sit and watch the bush. The en-suite bathrooms have a flush toilet, double vanity and hot shower. The tents can be configured as either twins or doubles, and there is also an accessible tent with ramp access and adapted bathroom facilities.

The emphasis throughout is on comfortable bush living rather than excessive luxury. There is a swimming pool overlooking the river, a main dining and lounge deck, bar and an outdoor boma around the fire. A dedicated Wi-Fi lounge allows guests to connect when necessary, while Wi-Fi is deliberately not provided in the tents, helping preserve the sense of being immersed in the wilderness. Laundry is also available.

The riverfront position is one of MmaTsebe's biggest attractions. Wildlife can be seen from camp, with elephants, buffalo and hippos regularly visiting the river. The surrounding Khwai region is renowned for its excellent wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, giraffe and numerous antelope species. Being able to explore both the Khwai Concession and Moremi Game Reserve gives the camp access to a particularly diverse range of habitats and wildlife.

Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, with the private Khwai concession and then longer day trips into the Moremi Game Reserve providing further variety and viewing opportunities. The camp also offers mokoro excursions, when water levels permit, allowing guests to explore the quieter waterways of the Delta from a traditional dugout canoe. A boat trip aboard a double-decker pontoon is possible on the full day drive into Moremi.
