RRA DINARE

Okavango Delta

Traditional camp offering all that the Okavango does and more

Rra Dinare Camp, meaning "Father Buffalo," is a traditional tented safari camp situated in a private 272 km² concession on the southeastern edge of Botswana's Okavango Delta. Overlooking the Gomoti River floodplains, it lies adjacent to the renowned Moremi Game Reserve, offering guests a prime location for wildlife viewing.

The camp comprises eight spacious tents, including a family tent and a guide's tent. Each tent is elevated on stilts, providing panoramic views of the surrounding floodplains. The tents are designed in a traditional safari style, constructed with canvas and thatch, and equipped with en-suite bathrooms, comfortable furnishings, and private viewing decks. The central areas feature open, thatched spaces that include a bar, swimming pool, and curio shop, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Rra Dinare offers a variety of activities to immerse guests in the Delta's rich ecosystem:

Game Drives: Day and night game drives are conducted in the private concession adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve. These safaris, accommodating up to six guests, are led by a guide and, during night drives, a tracker. Off-road driving is permitted, enhancing wildlife viewing opportunities.

Walking Safaris: Guided game walks are available, offering an intimate experience of the bush. These walks are dependent on local conditions and provide insights into the smaller aspects of the ecosystem.

Mokoro Excursions: Seasonal water activities, including mokoro (dugout canoe) trips on the Gomoti River, are offered when water levels permit, usually later in flood season - August. These excursions allow guests to explore the Delta's waterways and observe aquatic life and bird species.

Our guests have enjoyed Rra Dinare for its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional wildlife sightings. One reviewer noted the "great location and lovely setting on stilts," with wildlife such as porcupines, buffalos, and elephants frequenting the camp area. The guiding and tracking team received commendations for their knowledge and company, contributing to memorable sightings of lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and elephants. Another guest saw multiple sightings of a large wild dog pack, cheetahs, lions, and leopards.

Overall, Rra Dinare Camp offers a traditional and immersive safari experience in the Okavango Delta, with a range of activities and comfortable accommodations that have been well-received by guests.
