Sediba Sa Rona is a newly rebuilt safari lodge in Botswana’s Khwai Concession, one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the Okavango Delta, set right on the banks of the Khwai River and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. This location places it at the meeting point of riverine forest, floodplains and open savannah, creating a diverse habitat that supports high densities of wildlife, particularly predators, elephant and buffalo. It is a classic Khwai setting, where animals move freely between the private concession and the national park, and where both land- and water-based safari experiences are possible depending on seasonal conditions.

The design of the lodge is contemporary yet grounded in its environment, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and a low ecological footprint. Built beneath a canopy of mature leadwood and fig trees, the camp blends natural materials, open-sided structures and soft, earthy tones to create a sense of immersion in the surrounding landscape. The main areas are spacious and airy, with open decks, a firepit and multiple viewing points oriented towards the river, allowing the scenery and wildlife to remain central to the experience. The overall feel is polished but still very much in keeping with a traditional Delta safari camp rather than something overly modern or intrusive.

The accommodation consists of around fifteen luxury tented suites, including a couple of interleading family units, all positioned along the riverbank to maximise privacy and uninterrupted views. These are not simple tents but large, well-appointed canvas suites with generous sleeping areas, en-suite bathrooms and private wooden decks overlooking the Khwai River. Interiors are elegant but understated, using natural textures and neutral tones, with the emphasis firmly on space, comfort and connection to the outdoors. From the rooms, it is common to watch wildlife moving along the river, reinforcing that sense of being fully in the bush while still enjoying a high level of comfort.

Facilities are centred around a well-designed main lodge that includes a lounge, dining area and bar, all opening out onto expansive decks with river views. There is a swimming pool positioned to take in the scenery, as well as a spa offering treatments, which adds a more relaxed, lodge-style element to what is otherwise a classic safari experience. Evenings typically gather around the firepit, while daytime downtime is spent on shaded decks or in the main lounge watching the activity along the river. Despite being relatively new, the lodge already has a well-rounded offering that balances comfort with a strong sense of place.

Activities at Sediba Sa Rona are varied and one of its key strengths, thanks to its position in a private concession. Game drives are offered both during the day and at night, which is a major advantage over national park areas, and the region is particularly well known for its predator sightings. In addition, guests can explore the waterways by mokoro when water levels allow, enjoy guided walking safaris, birding and scenic helicopter flights, or venture into Moremi for broader exploration. This mix of land and water activities, combined with consistently strong wildlife viewing, makes it a very well-rounded Khwai River camp.
