MASHATU TENTED CAMP - 3 Nights

MASHATU TENTED CAMP - 3 Nights

Mashatu safari visitors are charmed by the vast open spaces; the biodiversity of wildlife from the gigantic to the miniscule. Part of the attraction of the destination is the additional activities offered over and above traditional game drives: horse-back safaris, cycling safaris and walks in the wild. Photographic hides add an aspect to the safari that brings you close and provides unique perspectives and opportunities. The camp is down to earth and authentic with warm hospitality and quality food. Works well with a Botswana safari itinerary or a South Africa safari itinerary.

  • DETAILED ITINERARY

    Day 1 to 4 - Mashatu - Tuli

Fly from Johannesburg to Mashatu (Tuesdays and Sundays)

Arrive at the Limpopo Valley Airfield where you are met and transfered to the Lodge.

A 30 minute vehicle transfer from Mashatu Main Camp is a refuge that is very different. The Mashatu Tent Camp is almost one with the environment; blink and you might miss it! This tented camp is the leisure choice for the guest who seeks the ultimate one-on-one bush experience and who prefers a more intimate environment (and no children under the age of 12).

Eight completely private tents are tucked under the branches of enormous trees, accessible via meandering pathways. The tents themselves are spacious and comfortable and large enough that adults need not duck to move around in. Each is mounted on a concrete platform and has its own private outdoor en-suite facilities, including W.C. and shower. Imagine showering under the stars!

Early morning and evening game drives every day bring visitors into close contact with the fascinating wildlife which inhabits Mashatu, promising a different nature experience with each drive.

Experienced rangers accompany the cyclists as they pedal their way along ancient elephant paths. Cycling amid the “Giants of Mashatu” is an awesome, once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the mountain bike safaris are tailored to suit the fitness and strength of the riders. Rides are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon.

    Half Day Walking Trail

Although many opportunities arise to view big game, the focus is on the little, often overlooked aspects of the bush – tracks, plants, insects, etc. A walking safari is an awakening of all the senses. You are a part of the environment – not merely a spectator on a safari vehicle. There is no better place to enjoy a walking safari than in this diverse and mammoth piece of Africa – The Land of the Giants.

    • US$55.00 per person per morning / afternoon walk
